Project Story
The homeowners of this Lake Leelanau wanted an outdoor space that balanced a new home structure with the deep history of the land. It needed to provide smooth, natural movement down to the waterfront while preserving a piece of the past: a charming old stone oven from the property’s original family cabin.
TruNorth Landscaping designed the layout to make moving around the lakefront effortless. Wide brick and paver walkways guide family and guests from the front entrance straight toward the expansive water views out back. The team used heavy flagstone steps and decorative boulders to add natural texture and shape the flow of the property.
Tucked within a ring of trees near the shore, a rustic firepit area serves as a primary gathering spot. TruNorth integrated subtle landscape uplighting to cast a warm evening glow that allows the family to enjoy the lakeside long after dark. Complete with riased garden planters and deer-deterring beds, teh final landscape offers a functional, relaxed space to share stories and watch the water.
